A teacher has missed getting the top award in a national final.
Nathalie Hockey, of Brook Primary School, was pipped to the post to getting overall prize for for a Primary Language Teacher of the Year prize.
But she still won prizes as one of only four nationwide finalists in the tough competition.
The award was by publishers Scholastic UK and La Jolie Ronde, a language tuition supplier.
Her prizes included a framed certificate, £500 of La Jolie Ronde resources and £200 of Scholastic books.
The awards were announced at the Houses of Parliament and Mrs Hockey received her accolade form judges’ chairman Geoff Swinn.
