Boy arrested at Ashford International Station after incident in Marden

A 14-year-old boy has been arrested after allegedly making threats to kill a girl.

British Transport Police (BTP) seized two weapons following the arrest at Ashford International Station.

Officers intercepted the suspect on a train following reports that he had threatened a girl at Marden station, near Maidstone .

A catapult and a knife with an 8-10cm blade were seized during the arrest.

The teenager was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and making threats to kill.

A BTP spokeswoman said: "Officers received a report of a boy threatening a girl at Marsden station at 11.51am yesterday, before then boarding a train towards Ramsgate.

"Officers met the train at Ashford International and identified a 14-year-old boy in connection.

"He was arrested on suspicion of a possession of an offensive weapon and making threats to kill. He has been released on bail while inquiries continue."
