A teenager has been arrested as part of an investigation launched after a woman was reportedly raped.

The incident happened in the Newtown area in Ashford in the early hours of the morning earlier this month.

An 18-year-old man, who is said to be known to the alleged victim, has been arrested as part of the investigation and released on bail.

Officers investigating the incident in New Town Green on January 10 are now appealing for witnesses and anyone with information.

They would like to speak to two men seen in Newtown Road around the time of the incident between 1am and 4am, who are believed to have given the victim a coat.
