A young man has been assaulted in Bank Street in Ashford.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the assault on the 16 year-old man by two other youths on Wednesday at about 11.20am.

According io the police, the victim was threatened before one of the youths hit him in the face with a heavy object, causing pain and swelling to his jaw and shoulder.

He did not attend hospital.

One of the youths is described as of Asian appearance, aged 15, 5ft 11 tall.
The other is white, aged 15, 5ft 11 tall and of slim build with brown cropped spiked hair.
