A teenage girl who got wedged in a baby swing had to be prised free by firefighters.

Lydd fire crew was called out to Newchurch Park to free the 15-year-old when she became trapped at about 7.45pm on Thursday.

A fire brigade spokesman said it took 15 minutes, and various hand tools, to free the hapless youngster.

Minor damage was caused to the swing but the girl escaped without injury – except to her pride.
