Police have released an image of a man they would like to speak to after a 16-year-old boy was beaten up for his mobile phone.

The incident took place on Sunday, April 14 between 6.45pm and 7.15pm in Kinneys Lane, Kennington.

The 16-year-old was walking with a friend along the cycle path that leads to Ashford Rugby Club. As they walked through the underpass for the M20 a man approached them and asked for the time. The boy took out his mobile phone and the man demanded the mobile before punching him in the face and stomach.

He grabbed the 16 year-old’s skateboard and threw it in the river and then took his wallet from his pocket before running off towards Tesco Express.

The offender is described as white, aged between 16 and 17-years-old with a spotty complexion and wearing a grey/beige hoodie with dark denim jeans.
