An ice rink is coming to Ashford - but only for seven weeks.

Workmen moved into the Charter House car park this week to start erecting the temporary covered skating area that will be part of the Ashford Winter festival celebrating the completion of the road works.

It is being funded by Ashford council and town centre partnership members, including County Square and Park Mall shopping centres and NCP car parks.

It is aimed at attracting people back to Ashford town centre for shopping and entertainment.

The rink will be open from Friday, November 14 until January 5 and will cost £6.95, including skate hire for a one-hour session.
