A brother and sister are aiming to raise thousands of pounds for charity in memory of their sister.
Evie and Tommy Ward from Ashford are fundraising for Great Ormond Street Hospital after young Isobelle died aged just 18 months.
The siblings, aged eight and six, were inspired to raise money for various charities following Isobelle's tragic passing from a brain tumour three years ago.
Their mum Karley said that the devastating loss had been difficult for the whole family.
"Isobelle had been given a 5% chance of surviving treatment, but battled through and we managed to have two Christmases together," she said.
"It was definitely a shock to Evie and Tommy, I effectively had to move into hospital to be with her, and then the loss was just so tough.
"But they have been just so incredible, so resilient and a real inspiration really."
The pair's fundraising endeavours began when they were inspired by an advert by charity Children for Cancer UK.
"I donate monthly anyway, and the charity had sent through some leaflets; one suggested a 'mini hero' challenge to raise money and they took that and ran with it.
"The first challenge was doing chores – which was very nice for me as well!"
Since then, the duo – who live near the town centre with Mrs Ward and dad Andy, both 33 – have collected more than £23,000 together, and are setting their sights on a new personal fundraising best this year.
"They raised £11,000 in that challenge, which was just unbelievable, and then bettered it with £12,000 last year," their mum said.
"The amount of money people have donated is so overwhelming, it is so difficult to describe because we don’t have the words – 'thank you' just doesn’t seem enough. It means the world to us."
Evie and Tommy have already raised more than £3,500 of their £13,000 goal this year so far.
Their challenge is taking place this month, with Evie swimming a kilometre overall, and Tommy doing 100 flips in the pool.
"It's a big challenge as Evie has just got her 20m swimming certificate, but they have good memories with Isobelle in the pool," explained Mrs Ward.
