Crime scene officers in Tenterden after Boots store broken into

Thieves broke into a Boots store in Tenterden High Street in the early hours of Sunday.

Police were called at 6.45am and found the shop doors open and the alarm sounding.

Boots spokesman Kristy McCready confirmed the break-in took place between 5 and 6am and said a member of the public called police after spotting the open door.

She said: "Nobody was in the store at the time of the break-in. The matter is now being investigated by police and our security team

After viewing CCTV footage officers believe the incident took place at about 5am.

Crime scene investigators were called to examine the building and officers could be seen sealing tape around the entrance to the store.

It is not yet been confirmed if anything has been taken.

The same branch was also broken into in August 2010.
