Thieves smashed through a patio door of a town centre home on Monday, but left the scene empty handed.

Officers were called to Malvern Road in Ashford after receiving reports of a burglary - which reportedly took place between 5pm and 8.45pm.

A patio door was smashed but nothing was reported stolen.

Investigating officer PC Sarah Copeland said: "If there is anyone who saw people or vehicles behaving suspiciously in the area during that time, or if you recall hearing breaking glass, we urge you to contact us."
