A crash on a busy motorway left one lane closed and caused three miles of tailbacks.

The collision happened at about 1.30pm on the M20 westbound between junction nine, Fourgers Way, Ashford and junction eight for Maidstone services.

One lane of the busy route was closed and commuters faced 25 minutes of delays, according to National Highways.

Traffic officers were working at the scene and it has now been reopened.
