A hooded thug swiped cash and a mobile phone from a luxury hotel after threatening a member of staff.

Police are investigating following the incident at Eastwell Manor in Ashford at about 2am this morning.

The male suspect is described as 5ft 7 ins tall, of a thin build and wearing a hooded top and soft brown cap.

He also had sunglasses on and had a scarf over his face to disguise his voice.

There were no reported injuries during the incident, but police are appealing for witnesses.
