A Hollywood star is rumoured to be filming in Kent for the next two nights.

Academy Award winner Kate Winslet is said to be filming part of a new movie in Charing, just outside of Ashford tonight.

School Road, near to Charing Fire Station, has reportedly been turned into a period street set.

The seven-time Oscar nominee lives across the border West of Kent.

The Titanic star and reportedly purchased a property worth £3.25 million by the sea in West Wittering, Sussex around four years ago.

Kent Highways confirmed the closure of the road for two nights this week for filming.

The road will be closed from 5pm tonight until 2am on Friday morning.

The statement says the road block 'will be lifted as soon as filming has been completed' and 'School Road will be closed from the junction with High Street north-westwards to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site'.

The alternative route is via A20 Maidstone Road and High Street, with symbols used on signage.
