A road was closed for four hours after a two-car crash that injured a woman.

It happened at about 6pm last night at the junction of the A259 and Romney Road in Lydd.

One of the drivers had chest pains and was taken by ambulance to Ashford’s William Harvey Hospital.

A Kent Police spokesman said: “There was a lot of diesel in the road which was cleared and the road re-opened around 10pm.”
