A KENT town's most wanted motorist is on the run from police.
An arrest warrant without bail has been issued for Claire Rossiter who has been convicted in her absence of more than 30 motoring offences.
This means the moment the 28-year-old Ashford woman is found she will be taken into custody and could face a jail sentence for offences which include driving while disqualified.
Her whereabouts are not known, but it is thought she has given up living at her council flat and moved to Ireland.
Rossiter, of Towers View, Kennington, Ashford, has charges on her file stretching back two years.
She has been stopped countless times by police driving a selection of low-budget cars including an Audi, two Vauxhalls, three Fords and two Rovers.
Rossiter was stopped in Jemmet Road, Hardinge Road, Hythe Road, Faversham Road, High Street, Elwick Road and outside her home.
Melanie McIntosh, prosecuting, told the court: “On one occasion she drove through a red light and almost struck a police car.
“She was pursued but would not stop despite the blue flashing lights and sirens.
“When she did pull over she told police she was in a hurry because she was in labour and this proved to be untrue.”
Rossiter denied 30 charges including driving without insurance, with no licence, with no MOT, violating traffic regulations, failing to stop and is also facing a separate raft of charges of driving while disqualified.
She was convicted by the magistrates in her absence.
Her defence lawyer, Paul Hogben, was discharged from his duty when it was clear Rossiter was not going go appear.
Clerk of the court David Daniels told the magistrates: "She is facing other proceedings at the moment on a driving while disqualified case. There are strong rumours she has gone to Ireland.
“If she turns up anywhere in this country she will be arrested by the police.”
