Trains between Paddock Wood and Ashford International cancelled after person hit at Headcorn

A person has been hit by a train between Paddock Wood station and Ashford International.

Southeastern Railway said power to the track has been switched off to allow emergency services to respond to the incident which is believed to be near Headcorn Station.

All lines between the two stations have been blocked with the train company requesting replacement buses to run in place of the trains cancelled by the situation.

Southeastern have also sourced replacement transport to go to the affected train to start moving passengers.

Services are being diverted via Maidstone East with passengers being told to change there for Paddock Wood.

The train company have said disruption is expected until 10pm.
