Tributes have been paid to a young man who devoted his life to helping others.
Darren Clark, 23, who lived in Park Farm, Kingsnorth, with his brother and a friend, died in a crash on the A251 Ashford Road at Sheldwich.
Shortly before 5pm on Sunday, September 21 his red Honda motorcycle was in collision with a burgundy coloured Jaguar car travelling in the opposite direction near the New House Lane junction.
A former Ashford North School pupil, he trained and worked for many years until recently as a mechanic at Ashford Self Hire in Hanover Close, Cobbs Wood, Ashford.
His boss Steve Markham described him as a perfect worker and said that the entire staff and regular customers were devastated by the loss.
He said: “He came to me as a 17-year-old and always conducted himself maturely.
“He was the perfect example of a fine young man and he was like one of the family to me.
“He would help anyone in need and was extremely popular, with a vast number of friends.”
Darren’s funeral was held at Charing Crematorium.
Police are continuing their investigation into the accident and want to contact the driver of a silver Renault Picasso, which was one of the first vehicles on the scene.
Anyone with information should contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 01622 798538.
