EMERGENCY services from Kent and France joined forces for the annual safety exercise at the Channel Tunnel on Saturday night.

It was the 21st such exercise aimed at testing the services’ response from both sides of the Channel to an incident.

The tunnel was closed to passengers from around 11pm Saturday to 6.20am Sunday.
