A man taken to hospital with suspected stab wounds following a disturbance in Ashford has himself been arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage.

Police were called to Billington Grove, Willesborough, just before midnight last night.

The man was taken to King's College Hospital, London, with what a police spokesman described as "wounds consistent with a stabbing" to his throat, stomach and leg.

He was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and has been bailed pending further enquiries.

A woman was also arrested on suspicion of assault and is currently in police custody.
