Two men have appeared in court charged with the murder of father-of-six Paul Hopkins (left).
Christopher Goldfinch and Scott Stevens, both 22, had originally faced grievous bodily harm charges.
But both were accused of Mr Hopkins' murder when they appeared at Ashford Magistrate's Court on Thursday.
They were remanded in custody and will appear at Maidstone Crown Court on December 14.
Mr Hopkins, 32, suffered serious head injuries and had been in a coma since an incident outside his home in Beecholme Drive, Kennington, on August 2.
His death in the Kent and Canterbury Hospital on November 23 had been confirmed by the Crown Prosecution Service at a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court last week.
Goldfinch, of Falcon Way, South Ashford, and Stevens, of Augustus Walk Kingsnorth, had originally been charged with grevious bodily harm with intent and an alternative charge of inflicting grevious bodily harm.
