A section of the M20 has now reopened coast-bound near Ashford after a crash just after midday, in which a woman motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries.

Traffic built up between J9 for the A20 for Faversham and J10 for Ashford South after a woman came off her motorbike.

The London-bound carriageway was closed while the air ambulance landed.

It is thought a motorcyclist fell off her bike but it's not believed any other vehicles were involved.

The coast-bound carriageway was earlier completely closed from junction 9, but one lane reopened just after 5pm and the others opened later in the evening. Meanwhile, all lanes on the M20 near Brands Hatch are now open after a separate crash involving a lorry and van earlier this morning.
