Two stolen motorbikes have been recovered by police after a high speed chase.
It happened just after 2am on Friday when officers attempted to stop a motorcyclist in Ashford after suspecting the vehicle was stolen.
The suspect failed to stop which led to the pursuit.
The driver was reported to be driving dangerously through red lights, driving the wrong way on a road, and on a public footpath at speed.
The bike was eventually brought to a stop in Littlebrook Road in Repton Manor.
The suspect then tried to escape on foot but was soon found by a police helicopter at a nearby address.
Inquiries showed that the motorbike the suspect was riding had been reported stolen, along with another bike found at the same property.
A 21-year-old man is in custody and inquiries are ongoing.
