Five unexploded Second World War bombs have been dug up on a beach in Dymchurch.
Police were called to Hythe Road at 11.51am on Wednesday following reports that the Bofors anti-aircraft shells were dug up by contractors.
According to police, the shells are believed to have been buried on the beach and were very rusty.
They measured about 15 inches long and three inches in diameter at the base and tapered to 1.5 inch at the explosive end.
The area was cordoned off and the bomb disposal team conducted a controlled explosion at 1.46pm.
