A couple say they suffered headaches, sore eyes and felt sick on their bus journey after youths began vaping and setting bits of paper on fire.
Dani Cosier and her partner Daniel Allcorn were sitting at the back of the number 2 bus from Tenterden to Ashford yesterday when they were joined by a group of six young boys.
Miss Cosier, from Bethersden, says she sat at the back because of the extra space for her shopping bags and walking aide.
"The group of boys came and sat in the spare seats between my partner and I," she said.
"Sitting by us wasn't the issue - they were just normal boys laughing and joking together.
"But then they took out vape pens and started passing them between one another.
"They were causing clouds of smoke which gave me and my partner a headache, nausea and sore eyes."
The group then started speaking about how they had lighters and proceeded to set bits of paper on fire.
"The talk was no issue until they decided to start ripping up papers and rolling them, pretending to roll joints," Miss Cosier said.
"Then one of them set it alight and was blowing it to make it burn faster. But they panicked and decided to throw it out the window."
The 29-year-old says they then reached her partner's stop, so they informed the bus driver.
"He asked where they were sat and drove off on the rest of his route," she said.
"I was a little surprised he didn't speak with them immediately, or notice the amount of smoke they were blowing.
"We've had bus drivers pull over for less reasons before. He didn't seem to care."
A spokesperson for Stagecoach confirmed the incident was being investigated.
“We take any report of behaviour that contravenes our conditions of carriage seriously," they said.
“Setting fire to material while travelling in a vehicle is an extremely irresponsible and dangerous action.
“We are investigating a report of an incident on a route 2 bus on Tuesday afternoon. Any evidence of activity that could endanger the safety of our passengers will be passed to the police."
