First came the bolt and now a wall on Ashford's Elwick Road is about to start mooing.
It is the latest art project in the town’s shared space traffic scheme.
Ashford-based artist Cathy Streeter has carved cattle shapes into the wall, which was once the boundary wall between the cattle market and the town.
She has recorded people’s memories, the sounds of the markets and cattle noises. Three metal grills inserted into the wall will soon, when activated by people walking beside it, omit the recordings.
The artist was given the blank wall and started researching its history. When she discovered that it was once part of the market she was inspired.
She said: “It made me think how the wall has stood there for a long, long time and has witnessed what has gone on both inside and outside the market.
“So the idea started unfolding that the wall would actually give back out its memories - and it would carry on talking till the cows come home,” which is the title of the artwork.
Two real cows will be part of the event when the sound wall is switched on on Saturday morning as part of the Ashford Winter Festival.
The festival runs on Friday and Saturday when a street market will lead from this new Elwick Square area through Bank Street, and into the High Street to join the regular market traders
