Police officers are getting on their bikes as part of an autumn
scheme to crack down on crime and promote road safety.
Operation Velo has seen both police officers and police
community support officers take to the roads of Ashford by
bike to promote safer riding and driving at a time of year when
children and young people are more at risk of being injured.
It has also been a bid to better engage with young people during
the half term school break and to increase the presence of police
neighbourhood staff.
When Operation Velo last ran at the end of August officers spoke
to nearly 900 youngsters, passing on road safety and other
advice.
Reporter Luke Hollands joined them on patrol.
