A 12-year-old magician became the $10 million boy when he
hobnobbed with top celebrities at a London fundraising event.
Lewis Fuller, who began learning card tricks while being treated
for cancer two years ago, performed to the likes of Jonathan Ross,
Princess Michael of Kent and The Who singer Roger Daltrey.
The event, hosted by financial firm BGC at its London
headquarters in Canary Wharf on Monday last week, raised $10
million for 75 charities with a sister event in New York.
Young Lewis, from Biddenden, performed for an exhausting
five hours for the Bone Cancer Research Trust, charming more than
40 celebrities.
But his talents did not stop with tricks, as he belted out a
version of Queen Latifah’s I Know Where I’ve Been. The song met
with cheers and tears from Antony Costa of boy band Blue, Britain’s
Got Talent presenter Amanda Holden and the Cheeky Girls.
Among the other stars at the do were Blind Date veteran Cilla
Black, snooker legend Jimmy White and ex-Formula 1 driver David
Coulthard.
Lewis told the Kentish Express: “It didn’t make me nervous. I
love getting reactions from people and that’s always the same, no
matter who they are. My favourite was Jonathan Ross.
Lewis’s dad Jason, 42, bought him a magic set from London toy
store Hamleys after he was diagnosed with Ewing’s sarcoma, a type
of cancer.
Mum Vickie and siblings Joe, 17, and Vickie Ridley , 19,
were amazed as he not only overcame the illness but emerged with a
new talent.
Now he is trained by Wye magician Etienne Pradier and
Californian teacher Rob Sherwood, and regularly appears at weddings
and parties.
