Voters across the county are heading for the polls today to vote in the county council and European elections.
The results of both elections are now widely regarded as being pivotal in determining the fate of Gordon Brown and the Labour government.

In the European elections, ten seats are up for grabs in the South East region, which incorporates Kent. These results will be determined by a system of proportional representation. A total of 13 parties are fielding candidates.
