The only Nike store in Kent has closed for a major refurbishment.
Work has begun on the expansion of the shop at Ashford Designer Outlet – months after rival Adidas moved to a larger site at the centre.
Staff had a sale last week to clear stock ahead of the work, which will see the store expand into the former Lyle and Scott store and Caffe Nero coffee shop.
The Scottish knitwear brand has now moved to the other end of the Outlet, while Caffe Nero has shifted closer to the centre's main entrance, allowing Nike to take up the space.
In April, Adidas, which was originally in the lower part of the Outlet near the play area, moved to the former Polo Ralph Lauren unit.
The site, which is next to the entrance to the shopping centre, had sat empty since late 2019.
When the work at Nike is completed, it will be larger than Adidas, with a reopening date set for December 12.
