The wife in a double death tragedy died from multiple gunshot wounds while her husband died from a shot to the head.

Cause of death for Martin and Jannette Jones was confirmed at an inquest that was opened on Thursday.

Coroner's officer Peter Daltrey said both had been found dead at their home in Brockham Farm, Brabourne Lees, on the evening of Wednesday, December 2.

Paramedics confirmed them both dead at the scene at 7.40pm and the couple were identified by their daughter, Clare Wood.

A post mortem examination at the William Harvey Hospital confirmed Mr Jones, 64, had died from a single gunshot wound to the head.

Mrs Jones, 56, died from haemorrhaging following multiple wounds.

Coroner Rachel Redman adjourned the hearing at Ashford Magistrates Court for a date to be fixed.

Mr Jones was a heating engineer and his wife was an outpatients manager at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich, south London.

Shortly after the shooting police revealed they had recovered two shotguns for the scene.

They said the tragedy was being treated as domestic and they were not looking for anyone else.
