General knowledge buffs are already busy doing their research in preparation for next weeks's Ashford Big Quiz.

But if you and your friends or workmates reckon you know a thing or two about what's in the news, or are experts on the X Factor or Strictly Come Dancing, there's still time to enter.

As well as testing your knowledge you will be doing your bit for charity as raising funds is a key element of the evening at Ashford International Hotel on Friday, October 14.

Money raised on the night will be divided between the Kentish Express charities of the year, the Caldecott Foundation and 1st Kennington Scout Group, along with the Pilgrims Hospice and the KM Charity Team's children's road safety services.

It is being supported by Ashford Designer Outlet, Crosskeys Coaches, Q Hotels (Ashford International Hotel), Shepherd Neame, Barclays, Pilgrims Hospice, Independent Music Produc-tions, Specsavers and P&O Ferries.

The price of a table for eight people is £60 and includes a ploughman's meal and glass of wine.
