Three late goals ended Hythe’s dreams of an FA Cup upset in their second qualifying round replay at Blue Square South Working on Tuesday night.
Former Ebbsfleet striker Giuseppe Sole got the only goal of the first half when he scored from the penalty spot, after he had been brought down by Aiden Pursglove, in the eighth minute.
Hythe fell further behind three minutes into the second half when Fola Onibuje knocked down Sam Sloma’s cross and Sole scored his second.
The visitors battled back and reduced the arrears when Lee Wingfield crossed from the left and Dave Cook sent a looping over keeper Ross Worner and into the net.
Young Woking substitute Ola Sogbanmu hit Hythe with two late goals. He controlled the ball on his chest and scored with a left-foot shot into the corner of the net after 81 minutes and two minutes later scored again with a header.
Sogbanmu turned provider on the stroke of full-time laying the ball back to Sloma who scored the fifth.
