A woman was trapped in a car for almost an hour after a road crash.
Firefighters struggled to free her and got her out after 50 minutes after removing the door and roof.
The accident happened outside the Hare and Hounds pub on the A20 at Ashford, just after 5.30pm yesterday.
The Kent Air Ambulance was flown in and a doctor from it treated the woman driver at the scene.
Ashford Fire Station crew manager Tim Hanley said: "It was difficult to get her out because the car was so crushed on the driver's side.
"Also it was a small two-door car so there was not much space to work in."
The accident, between two cars, happened at the junction with Sandyhurst Lane and Godinton Lane.
Two fire engines, from Ashford and Wye, were at the scene and crews used cutting gear to free the middle aged woman.
The victim suffered suspected spinal and pelvic injuries and was taken by land ambulance to hospital.
