A woman who was found dead in a pond last week has been named locally.

The body of Ashford woman Jean Jarvis, who was in her 70s, was discovered last Tuesday at around 4pm near the Travelodge in Eureka Park.

Emergency crews, including police, forensic officer and paramedics, rushed to Eureka Park an an area was cordoned off.

Police are not treating her death as suspicious and her next of kin has been made aware.

A police spokesman said a report has been prepared for the coroner.
