A woman claims she saw bright flaming lights hovering over Ashford before dropping laser like shafts to the earth.
Jade Anthony, 29, said she witnessed the unidentified flying objects from the garden of her home in Bullrushes, Singleton, on Sunday night.
She says they left her feeling "freaked out".
The model and singer, who also runs her own DJ agency, spotted what she is certain were alien craft at 9.15pm.
She has been watching a DVD with lifelong friend Simon Lowe, 32, from Cradlebridge Drive, Willesborough, when they took a cigarette break in the garden.
After spotting strange lights in the clear sky above Singleton Lakes they watched what she described as an acrobatic display straight from the realms of science fiction.
She said: “There were two bright orange lights that were flaming like small suns.
"The smaller one circled the larger one before that appeared to drop balls of light that plummeted to the earth before they flew off over the town.
“We watched them in horror over the rooftops of my neighbours’ homes for up to two minutes. There was no noise from the craft that looked like flaming Chinese lanterns.
“It was not normal and we can only think it was like us sending a probe to investigate Mars.”
Roy Lake, founder and chairman of the London-based UFO studies group, is supporting their sighting and dismisses thoughts they might just have vivid imaginations.
He said: “There has been a big build up of similar sightings of Chinese lantern type craft across the country and I would appeal for anyone that may have seen anything to make it public.
“From the detailed descriptions from the pair I have interviewed I feel this is a genuine UFO sighting worthy of investigation.”
Ashford police spokesman Rosy Alexander said that they had no record of receiving reports on anything unusual in the skies above the area to investigate.
