Woman airlifted to London hospital after being hit by car in Kennington Road, Ashford

A woman in her 80s has been airlifted to a London hospital after being hit by a car.

Police and paramedics were called to Kennington Road in Ashford, at the junction with the William Harvey Hospital, yesterday evening at 5.10pm.

The road was closed for several hours and the 80-year-old woman was flown to a London hospital, where she remains in a serious condition.

A 63-year-old man from Ashford was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and remains under investigation.

Officers would like to hear from any eyewitnesses who saw the collision or have dashcam footage that could assist their enquiries.
