A woman's been jailed for a year after stabbing her boyfriend in a heated row.
Jelena Jurcenko, of Cryol Road, Ashford, was convicted of grievous bodily harm at Maidstone Crown Court.
The court heard emergency services were called to the home Jurcenko shared with her boyfriend Erik Urtans at just before 9am on June 13.
When ambulance crews arrived they found Mr Urtans had been stabbed twice with a knife.
But he told police an unknown man had knocked on his front door and when he opened it, he was attacked before the offender fled.
Mr Urtans was airlifted to Kings College Hospital in London where he was treated for stab wounds to his chest and abdominal area.
But he later confessed Jurcenko had attacked him with a kitchen knife during an argument.
Jurcenko, 29, was arrested at her home, where she admitted throwing the weapon away after the row and as she headed for the train station.
She told police her relationship was volatile after they met on the internet.
"Jurcenko used the knife, not once, but twice on the morning of 13 July before fleeing the scene and discarding the weapon as she fled" - acting DI Matt Banks
But she has now been convicted of the GBH charge and jailed for 12 months.
Speaking after sentencing, acting detective Inspector Matt Banks said: "This was a volatile relationship, a whirlwind romance which turned nasty in the weeks leading up to the attack on Mr Urtans.
"Jurcenko used the knife, not once, but twice on the morning of 13 July before fleeing the scene and discarding the weapon as she fled.
"Mr Urtans needed emergency treatment at hospital for the injuries sustained at the hands of his girlfriend. Thankfully his injuries never became life threatening."
