A woman is travelling to Paris - the hard way.
Sally Stear, from Ashford, intends to cycle as part of the London to Paris event in September.
She needs to raise a minimum of £1,300 for her chosen charity, The Stroke Association.
Mrs Stear of Knott Crescent, Willesborough said: “I am a ward manager at Maidstone hospital on the acute stroke and rehab ward and I value the work of the Stroke Association.
“I am keen on cycling and this was an opportunity to combine the two.”
Mrs Stear’s 244-mile ride starts in London, heads to Portsmouth, involves a ferry trip to France and a final leg to Paris.
Before that she is to stage two fund-raising quiz nights - one at Larkfield village hall, near Maidstone on July 17 and another at Ashford’s Stour Centre - where Mrs Steer has been training - on July 24.
Tickets are £5 and tables of six are invited.
