Jake Spearpoint excelled playing against some of the best young golfers in the world
Teenage Cheriton golf prospect Jake Spearpoint has proved his potential by starring at a prestigious junior tournament against some of the top young players in the world.
The 14-year-old (pictured) topped the leaderboard for his age group at the US Kids Golf European Championship in East Lothian, Scotland, beating almost 40 others to record his biggest win to date.
The event was held over five historic courses, Gullane no.2, Gullane no.3, Kilspindie, Luffness New and Craigielaw, and saw players compete for the title of European champion.
The Brockhill School pupil’s three rounds produced a score of 229 with rounds of 76, 76 and 77.
Spearpoint had finished 32nd in the 2007 US Kids Golf World Championships held at Pinehurst, North Carolina.
