Leon Camier returned from Lincolnshire with 26 points after securing two fourth-placed finishes at rounds 17 and 18 of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship.

Camier qualified fifth on the grid, and despite falling back to seventh on the first lap of race one, he managed to work his way back up the field to finish fourth.

The Ashford rider also dropped back during the early stages of race two. At the start of lap six, Camier overtook Michael Rutter to claim fourth, and after passing team mate Shane Byrne, briefly held third, before Byrne reaffirmed his position. Camier, due to the reduced distance, had to settle for fourth again.

"To be back amongst the front runners feels great," Camier admitted.

"I was hoping to get onto the podium, especially in the second race. But the fact that I’m riding better, and the Airwaves Ducati 1098R set-up has improved, is a result in itself."

Camier remains fifth in the championship standings, on 205 points, going into rounds 19 and 20 at Croft, North Yorkshire on September 14. Byrne leads on 364.
