George Digweed continued his impressive year with a second world title after winning the World ICTSF English Sporting Clay Championships in Ontario, Canada.

The 49-year-old from Wittersham celebrated his latest triumph – the 22nd world crown of his career – saying: “This year has just been phenomenal and definitely my most successful to date with two world championships and two European in different disciplines.”

Digweed completed the testing two-day sporting lay out, finishing two clays ahead of his nearest rival, following a demanding final 25 target shoot-off involving the top-10 competitors after two rounds in a field including the best world shooters

Digweed added: “The testing layout in Canada really sorted everyone out and I am delighted to have beaten such a field to gain another title.”
