ASHFORD Athletic Club’s Hannah Olson continues to make giant strides in the technically demanding discipline of pole vaulting.
The talented 14-year-old from Eastling, near Faversham, set a new United Kingdom indoor pole vault record of 3.81m in winning the AAAs Women’s Under-17 indoor championship gold at the national Indoor Arena in Birmingham.

Hannah has this year joined the new Athletics Academy at Canterbury High School where she continues to work with Ashford’s top-rated vaulting coach Derek Laws.
She has delivered their first UK national title and record and this good form augers well for the summer as she continues to rise in the national rankings.
