Young fencer poised for GB debut

Highworth Grammar School pupil Gemma Phipps will be fencing for Great Britain in France on Sunday.
Twelve-year-old Gemma, who lives in Barn Platt, Ashford, makes her international debut in the under-15 age group in a men’s and women’s sabre competition in Moneteau,
Her father Robert said: “Gemma has been fencing for just over two years and is now eighth in the under-13 national rankings.”
Gemma is a member of the MX Fencing Club, who are based in Malling.
