Ashford men’s 1st team will go into the Christmas break having slipped into the relegation zone in South Premier League Division 2 after Saturday’s 4-2 defeat at Wycombe.
They have produced some superb home performances but just one win away from Ball Lane has led to their uncomfortable league position.
Paul Cheap and Sam Handley were their scorers at Wycombe.
Ashford, however, enjoyed better fortunes on the road on Sunday when they won 4-3 at Old Williamsonians in the Kent Cup.
But they frittered away a 3-0 lead before booking a clash with Canterbury in the next round.
Man of the match was midfielder Josh Tutham.
This Sunday, Ashford remember the late Geoff Wells, a club stalwart for many years, with a special memorial day.
