Ashford take on league leaders

Ashford Rugby Club return to action after their three-week Christmas break with a testing trip to Kent 1 leaders Medway on Saturday.

Medway are four points clear at the top after winning 11 of their 12 matches so far, including a 20-19 victory at Ashford in November.

But Ashford were leading 19-5 with 15 minutes left before Medway snatched victory with a late converted try, and Ashford captain John Norman said: "We really should have won that game.

"We also played well when we beat Cranbrook 26-17 just before Christmas, and if we can combine those two performances then we should give Medway another good game.

"Our new coaching team of Martin Kelly, Richard Reeves and Tony Kendall have already instilled a better attitude amongst the players, and I think we can look forward to a much better second half of the season."
