Ashford United are facing up to the prospect of playing 10 home games in the final two months of their Southern Counties East League season.
A fourth successive Southern Counties East League postponement, against Lingfield on Tuesday – the second-call-off in as many weeks against the Surrey club – added another complication to the end-of-season fixture list, and means it’s more than a fortnight since Paul Chambers’ side last kicked a ball in anger – in a 3-1 win over Corinthian on February 10.
The two teams will try for a third time on Tuesday March 24.
United head to Eltham on Saturday to face bottom club Erith Town, now with former VCD and Erith & Belvedere manager Martin Ford and his son Joe in charge following their appointment earlier this month.
Ford has signed an almost completely new team since taking over, including striker Jon Main, but the new pair in charge lost their opening - and only game so far - 5-0 at home to Rochester United.
United begin March with a visit from runaway leaders Phoenix Sports next Tuesday (7.45pm
