Herne Bay boss Sam Denly hopes his side’s midweek FA Trophy success at Merstham will inspire them to another win on the road this weekend.
A trip to third-placed Crawley Down represents a tricky return to league action for Bay, who haven’t played in Ryman League, Division 1 South for a fortnight.
Denly praised his side’s application in the Trophy tie, and sees no reason why they can’t make it back-to-back wins.
He said: “Winning becomes a habit, whether you’re at home or away. The lads took a lot of pride from that.
“They worked all day (on Tuesday) but we got there early, prepared well and put in a good performance (winning 2-0). I expect us to do the same on Saturday.
“It’s another tough one. Crawley Down are doing well this year and it’s another hard place to go.
“We’ve had them looked at. They’re a decent side, they like to play football and they’ll be there or thereabouts.
“But after our result on Tuesday night, the lads should be full of confidence. I know we can go there and get something as long as the lads put another shift in.”
