Ashford Athletic Club's Lisa Dobriskey has earned her Great Britain call-up to compete in the Olympic Games in Beijing in August.
She secured her place with a tactically astute victory in the Olympic trials over 1500m at the weekend.
Dobriskey, already the Commonwealth champion, won her heat comfortably in 4:20.58 and then stayed out of trouble to produce a storming finish to take the victory in the final in 4:15.84.
The 25-year-old has already gone close to her personal best for the distance which she set in Melbourne in taking the Commonwealth gold of 4:06.21 in 2006.
She recently ran 4:06.25 in Warsaw. She is now back to top form after suffering a stress fracture after the Commonwealth Games and judged her Trials victory well to hold off top rival Susan Scott (4:16.66) and Hannah England (4:17.82) who had run the fastest 1500m this year with a 4:06.19 in the USA in March.
