ASHFORD Athletic Club’s Jack Green continued his meteoric rise with another stunning display on Saturday to rocket top of the National U17 400m hurdles rankings.
The Hythe youngster has been in stunning form this year and in the South of England championships he went within a tenth of the nine-year-old record with another golden display.
Most of the athletes were still arriving as he retained his title won last year in the first event of the day.
He just blew away the best the South can offer with a brilliant run of 52.98 seriously threatening the record of 52.88.
There was also two bronze medals from the club’s rising female star Rachel Hanagan.
