Connor Morris took another step towards realising his dream of becoming a professional footballer when he helped England Under-16s beat Wales 1-0 in the Sky Sports Victory Shield tie at Stebonheath Park, Llanelli.
The former Towers School pupil and Kennington Junior is on Charlton’s books, and was selected for his country after impressing at a 40-player trial earlier this year.
Damian Matthew, Charlton’s Under-18 Youth Coach, said: “Connor has every right to feel proud at representing his country. He’s a level-headed lad who is supported by a good family.
“I’m sure he will admit that he has been taught well in the Charlton Academy.”
Morris, who is equally at home in defence or midfield, made his international debut against last month against Northern Ireland at Ballymena.
England’s next game in the Victory Shield is against Scotland on November 29. He played at right-back against Wales.
